Chair Iowa Democratic Party
Bio

Sue Dvorsky has led the Iowa Democratic Party as chairwoman since June 2010. Under her watch the IDP has continued to be a strong advocate for Democratic principles across the state, and has contributed to electoral victories from the local to federal level. Ms. Dvorsky was one of the first Iowans to be involved with the 2007-2008 campaign for then Senator Barack Obama, serving as Johnson County co-chair for their caucus campaign. While she has always been active in Democratic causes and campaigns, she has also left a lasting impact on countless students as a teacher in Iowa City public schools, where she spent 30 years as a special education teacher. In 2012 Ms. Dvorsky and the IDP are focused on running a successful First in the Nation Caucus, and expanding Democratic control at all levels of government.
