Bio

Dr. Leicht’s interests include the sociology of work, organizations and organization theory, social stratification, and political sociology. He received a B.S from Creighton University, and a M.S. and Ph.D. from Indiana University, all in Sociology. Dr. Leicht is the co-author of four books, including most recently, Postindustrial Peasants: The Illusion of Middle Class Prosperity. He has published numerous articles in journals such as Social Forces and the American Journal of Sociology. His current research looks at the development of economic development programs by the U.S. states, and the causes and consequences of corporate restructuring. He teaches courses in the sociology of work, organizational theory, economy and society, political sociology and social stratification. Dr. Leicht is the current editor of Research in Social Stratification and Mobility, prior editor of The Sociological Quarterly, and has served on the editorial board of the American Sociological Review, Social Forces, and Work and Occupations.
