Bio

Glen Weisbrod is the President of Economic Development Research Group. His 30 years of professional experience has focused specifically on assessment of economic development impacts of transportation. He served as Chair of the Transportation Research Board’s Committee on Transportation and Economic Development, and was also formerly on the Board of Directors of the National Council for Urban Economic Development. Mr. Weisbrod has conducted lectures and workshops on economic impact assessment for transportation agencies and audiences around the US, as well as in Canada, Japan, Australia, the Netherlands, France and Italy. He was coauthor with David Forkenbrock of the Guidebook for Estimating the Social and Economic Effects of Transportation Projects. He is currently leading the effort to assemble a national database on highways and their economic impacts, with assistance from the University of Iowa Public Policy Center. He holds degrees in Urban Planning and Civil Engineering from MIT, and Economics from Brandeis University.
