Wo, Malone, and Rogers Publish Article in the Journal of Urban Affairs

PPC faculty and affiliates James Wo, Sarah Malone, and Ethan Rogers recently authored an article in the Journal of Urban Affairs on the relationship between tree canopy coverage and crime. Wo, Malone, and Rogers conducted a longitudinal block group analysis on tree canopy coverage, sociodemographic characteristics, and crime in Washington, DC, to model within-neighborhood change. Their findings demonstrated that while tree canopy coverage reduced violent crime rates in the neighborhoods studied, it also led to increased motor vehicle thefts. Read the full publication here
