25th Anniversary of the National Advanced Driving Simulator

Body

This year marks the 25th Anniversary of the National Advanced Driving Simulator (NADS), the largest driving simulator in the United States, housed under the University of Iowa's Driving Safety Research Institute (DSRI).  UI’s strengths in driving simulation and vehicle dynamics made it uniquely poised to be selected as the simulator’s site of origin back in 1992.  Currently, the facility is worth $80 million and manned by 25 staff members in addition to graduate and undergraduate students.  More info here.
