The ISRC was one of 55 research units at the 2022 UI Research Services Fair, represented by Cassidy Branch, data collection and evaluation specialist, and Lisa Halm-Werner, survey data collection specialist. The fair provided a venue for faculty and student researchers, in particular, to connect with the ISRC and learn more about the various support services on campus.

The table had about two dozen visitors throughout the fair from several departments, such as College of Nursing, Teaching and Learning, and the State Hygienic Lab, that were interested to learn that the PPC offered support for data collection services in areas of survey design and data collection management, as well as grant development support. Visitors also sparked conversations about collaborating to better serve the research community that exists at the university, like potential on-site trainings for researchers at PPRB to support the IRB education of both staff and new researchers.

Additionally, the fair was a great opportunity to network and recognize familiar faces across campus, catching up with service providers the PPC and ISRC collaborate with regularly, such as the UI Library's Research Data Services unit.

"It was also a pleasure, and benefit, to see the faces of new and existing staff in the Office of the Vice President for Research," Halm-Werner said.

The Research Services Fair plays an essential role in reminding researchers across the university that the ISRC is close and accessible to serve researchers in many ways. Check out our website, or contact us at isrc-info@uiowa.edu to get started.
